Great Book Buy
I’ve been to the Oklahoma Homeschool Convention for 4 years now and have never stopped by BooksBloom. I would just like to say, “Shame on me!!” Jan Bloom offers hundreds of used books and many new books that fit into my criteria for living books. One of my favorite buys was Who Should We Then Read? written by Jan Bloom herself which provides lists of books by author. If you find a great book, you can search for the author to see what other books they’ve written. In the back of the book she also lists books by series, including a section on readers and a section on award winning books. This should prove to be very useful in the years to come. She also has a Volume 2 available. Just click on the link to the right to visit the BooksBloom site.

For this age, though, Charlotte recommends to just read them great literature and let them experience the natural world around them. No formal schooling is necessary at this age level.
